2004 CONFERENCE PAPER

Abstract:

Approximately nine out of every ten patients go to medical doctors because of pain- headaches, abdominal pains, backaches, arm, shoulder and leg pains (Thie, 1994, p.ll). Headache is the commonest complaint presented to physicians, an migraine is the commonest function; disorder by which patients are afflicted (Sacks, 1999). Approximately 18% of all females and 6% of all males in the United States experience migraines and they are  increasing. In the 10 Years prior to 1997 the incidence of migraine among all age groups in America has risen more than 60% (Milnes, More & Goldberg, 1997). Thus anyone working in the holistic health field will be seeing clients who experience migraines.
